Ever since I visited El Salvador in 1993 and witnessed the suffering of villagers in the wake of civil war, my life has been changed and enriched by working with good-hearted people in the United States and El Salvador on behalf of poor children and their families in struggling Salvadoran villages.
Our work is inspired by the life of MonseƱor Oscar Romero, a strong advocate for the poor who was assassinated in the opening salvos of the war. Romero had a clear faith that that despite human cruelty we can -- and we must -- create the kingdom of God on this precious Earth.
Like Romero, we see our work for the poor in El Salvador as a ministry of Christ. We warmly invite you to join us. ~ Donna
